A very bad memory from childhood has been coming up. What's worse is I'm having really bad fibromyalgia pain and headaches along with it. I've had anxiety before with memories but never this much physical pain.
Can anyone relate? Will the pain stop after I tell my T this week about the memory?

Skywhite, it's interesting because I am having anxiety and stress and I have noticed that my fibro and arthritic pains have been much worse. So, I have certainly connected memory/stress and physical pain!
Of course, I can't say for sure if you'll leave your therapist's office with less pain, but I think when you are able to work through the stress this memory is causing, you'll have pain reduction. I can feel that I actually tighten up my muscles when I am stressed out, plus I don't sleep well. Voila, more pain. ![]() |

((Skywhite)),
Yes, I have had these experiences too. I went through a really challenging time for a while, however, as Travelinglady has said, after you work through these memories and sort them out, they will ease up substantially. Don't tell yourself you are going to keep being haunted like this, because as you work through them, you will heal and do much better, you just need to be "patient" with it, remember these come in waves so the best thing to do is let it come in and crest and it always recedes, then you can work through each one and you will begin to feel relief, you will, so be patient.
