Having a big problem. My abuser's ("family" member's) birthday is next Sunday. Will trigger me big time. Trying to think of things to do to distract me, but really very frightened anticipating the event. I think it's already triggering me.... Sometimes I truly wish my brain came w/ a 'delete' button. ohhhh .... I'm so sorry... birthdays bring back the worse of memories sometimes...
A couple of years ago, I stopped acknowledging my b-day and now I pick another day and it is a "have fun" day - it isn't even the same day every year... it made me happier... ((((((hugs))))) freewill |

It's good to know I'm not the only one that hates birthdays. I was raped on my 16th birthday. My son was born the day before my rapist birthday. When my friend came to see me when he was born she said "good thing it was today and not tomorrow or he would share the same birthday as *******."
