i have been having a lot of intrusive thoughts and i am wondering if they are typical. for example, i walk from my car to my apt door and the visual runs through my mind of somebody running up behind me and shoving me through my door and attacking me. this has happened repeatedly. this morning, i woke up and the first thought/visual i had was a man in riot gear running toward me in attack mode. and there is this overwhelming paranoia that i am going to get in trouble for something constantly lurking in my head. does this happen to anybody else? does anybody else have these thoughts? are they common or am i just a weirdo?

Yes, I experience that however with me it happens whenever I walk down my driveway because it's is a shared driveway and my neighbors have almost hit me, not so long ago I was talking to a neighbor with her dog, I warned her to quick get out of the way because they are mean and might hit her, she saw it for herself as they sped up passing close to her with their large loud truck. I often struggle when I go out to feed and care from my horses and ponies expecting the neighbor to pop up and say something angry towards me because he has done that too, especially when I have been alone out there.

I don't want to experience that when I am out there either, it just comes over me. These are the neighbors who's dog caused so much damage to all my horses and ponies.

Yes, I get them too. As a matter of fact, I came to this forum to ask about mine (will start own thread). Do you talk to a therapist, do you think it could be paranoid ideation? Then again you don't sound fearful in your post.

Hi, I new here and I understand you OP. I get them all the time. At least I know I am not the only one. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I for some reason feel a little bit safer? Or better knowing I am not the only one that gets this.

That used to be a major problem for me, especially in the week before my period. I'd start thinking people were trying to kill me, and I was always convinced that I was going to be fired. Once I clued into the link that it got worse before my period I felt better, and was able to dismiss the thoughts more easily.

My pdoc put me on a low dose of risperidone -.5mg and that cleared the intrusive thoughts right up. Now I only get intrusive thoughts if I've been drinking. It makes me paranoid.

Oh yes, I just posted yesterday and today that I can't sleep because of nightmares but being awake is allowing my brain to have all these thoughts and pics I don't want.

I understand and hope you can find relief.
