I shrug and turn my gaze to the distance. "Yeah, I suppose." "I mean, come on. What are your nightmares even about?" I shrug. Things I could never verbalize. And things I'm 'too young to have endured' apparently.

Simple minds can't possibly comprehend what you must have been through to feel the way you feel.
People who say that somebody can't possibly know what a nightmare is because of their age or use the age card in any other way to make themselves appear superior are nothing more than simpletons. I hope you get to feeling better soon! |

The seeds of many nightmares are planted when you are very young, at least for anyone who has grown up in a abusive home or have been horribly bullied, or abused by neighbors, or extended family, or all or the above. People who don't realize that are not only naive, but very lucky.
