I've been really suffering with some horrible nightmares lately, and am interested in hearing others' experiences with this.
What are your nightmares like? How frequent? How do you deal with daily life after a nightmare? Have any medications or remedies worked for you? Thanks <3 |

Anna,
Before my breakdown (15 years ago), I don't recall having any nightmares. Since my breakdown, I have them all the time (usually at least twice per week). I repeatedly dream that I am lost, abandoned, or somehow cut off from my family and can't find them...or that I forget where I live and can't go home...or that I have done something terrible but cannot remember what it was. I dream that I can't get in touch with my husband because my cell phone is gone or is broken or because I borrow someone else's cell phone and have no idea how to use it. I dream that I can't find my car in a large parking lot because I've forgotten where I parked. Recently, I dreamed that I looked into the mirror, and I was full of large, round, deep holes in my face and all over my chest. Whenever I tired to breathe in, the holes would open wide and try to take in air. It reminded me of a fish's gills. It was horrifying. |

I always have nightmares anytime I sleep, even when it’s just a nap. Once in a while I do get weird dream instead. Mention any scary creatures ever exist in either fiction stories or in real world, I think I’ve had them in my nightmares. I’d wake up panic and it took a while to realize it was just a nightmare. Sometimes my nightmares continue if I fall back asleep. Never tried any med for it but I heard Prazosin helps.
