trying to determine source.

it was halloween i guess because ppl were carving pumpkins - then wearing them. most ours looked like the typical ill-carved pumpkins most ppl come up with. but one guy was a pro at it and made a super scary one - and wearing it - then scaring all the kids with it. there was like a tarp or sheet kids were hiding under (all in good fun) and he'd put his super scary face under it and they'd all scream (me too). Then it was time to go, and he took my car! I went after him, but he noticed, and got out -only to see someone take his volvo. He went after them and i got in mine.... i noticed my pumpkin was in the back and tho carved, i hadn't cleaned it out of the seeds n stuff. (ew!) so i went driving home and suddenly my brakes and my steering locked up! I tried to make a left hand turn and couldn't. i skidded with the brakes clutching and grinding into a (fortunately) vacent parking spot right past my missed turn. I got out to look and the front tire was twisted and stuck in a storm drain, making a leeking sound. i squished it and it was clearly flat. same with the back.

then the phone rang and woke me... hate that - when it is interrupted and i don't get to know the ending. but, weird, eh? any symbology?

We're supposedly everyone in our dreams since they're our dreams and about us. Thanks for sharing yours, Kiya, I think it's a really interesting one!

I see mask symbology and the car thing is definately about how you're feeling in your own life. Interesting your alter ego is a male, in-the-world self with the best mask? So, did you recently have to slam on your breaks or accidentally go past a turn you wanted to make in your life? :-) Convenient there was a vacant parking spot passed your missed turn. Maybe you're supposed to stop and think about things a bit first before going "that" direction (the direction you were trying to turn in) which is "left", the "emotional" direction.

I thought you had, like me, a phone ring in your dream so realistically you wake only to find there's no phone been ringing. I use to always get that!

still trying to think my way around all that. my car's breaks really did grind the other day right out of the garage, so that was probably being incorporated.
i remember i kept trying to get away from the guy with the scary pumpkin head but he kept showing up. i knew he couldn't really hurt me, but i didn't like the image. when the kids kept screaming in fun, i finally joined them. there were 4 or 5 boys and girls there. i never wore my own pumpkin head/mask. i just put it in the car - where it then got taken by that guy. i never thought of it as an alter ego - i'll have to take it to t on wed. - she has me track my dreams but we never go over them.
thanks, perna.

In therapy tonight we analized this....
mostly about how my life is stuck, how i am hiding parts from myself, and how my internal alters system highjacks the self sometimes. Kind of like what you were saying, Perna... as the alter ego - more to the point that the destructives will sometimes take over (scary mask face). All in all, the outcome was "the time is ripe for trauma work". oh goodie.
