I have a question I didn't know if this was triggering or not so I put a trigger icon just in case I don't want to take anyone out of there saftey zone.
Is it possible to have physical flashbacks, like feeling something and it not really being there.
I was sitting in the living room and all of a sudden I could feel the most intense pain throughout my chest, shoulders, upperback, and pelvic area just like I did in the car accident. I have had instances where I can feel the seatbelt choking me or on me when I have normal flashbacks but never was there any pain involved and it was only around my chest and neck I could feel the seatbelt.

But this time it was the actually pain I was in during the accident and it hurt so bad I wanted to take some pain pills. I was crying I was in so much pain and my little sister wanted to call my mom because I was curled up in a ball. It lasted for almost 15 minutes and passed.
Is this normal, is this even possible?

Yes. A flashback can involve all senses and feelings as though you are right back in it. During this time try to keep stress down to a minimum and try to reassure yourself that you are not in danger now.

Body memories are certainly possible, many of us experience them, I've been through them myself.

Hugs to you, take good care of yourself. Question

same here Question

try to do like pegasus said - decrease stress, do things that are good for you, and reassure yourself that you are physically safe now. "i can feel safe".

oh this reminds me -when i was having my flashback yesterday (i posted it in DID forum) I finally was able to do the reccommeded practice of stating to myself the facts of now; "My name is Kiya, i'm 31 yrs old, today is June 30th, I'm in yoga class, the celing above me is wood, the wall is wood, the wall is where my feet are right now, I can feel safe. There is no one here who will hurt me". and in time it did fade.

Keep breathing!

Thank you all, it cleared up my confusion, I honestly didn't know there was such a thing called a body memory, I didn't know that flashbacks could go as far as affecting me physically.

I hope that never happens again, that truly scared me worse than any flashback I have had before.
