I have PTSD... I've had it since I was 19. They told me the symptoms would get worse during pregnancy. Well I have three weeks till my due date, but my doc says I could go next week.

I almost dropped out of college last night. I just cant stop thinking about negative things, and I can't concentrate, and I'm already way behind. I have to get ahead two weeks, including my final assignments before I go into labor... and Im so freaking stressed I cry about every 10 minutes. I decided to go ahead and keep trying. If I can get this all done in the next week, I'll be ok.

Im seeing a new therapist... she's choosing one of three therapy methods for me, EMDR, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or this therapy that scared me called Prolonged Exposure Therapy. I see her for the second time today. She should have decided by today.

I really really need to get it together.. my fiance is about ready to leave me. I just cant keep it together. I feel like Im about ready to completely lose my mind.

You are dealing with a lot! First of all, congratulations on the baby! Next, school sounds like it is weighing you down. You have probably already discussed this with your professors, but can you negotiate your assignments so that you can have fewer pieces of work count more towards your grade? I would explain that you feel overwhelmed and need help managing everything. Perhaps you could take an incomplete in one or two of the classes and focus on finishing the others?

It seems a little much for your new T to be talking about processing the trauma right now--you have a lot of other things going on in your life that need to be managed if you are going to face the trauma with strength. Like, maybe she can help you focus for right now on containing the emotions and managing the symptoms, or even on working with you and your fiancee to help you get through this stressful time.

I don't have any children, but I wonder if you feel like you are in the last legs of a marathon!
