I get very frustrated by time and rembering things.
It's like my memory has been split into three sections:Pre-accident, accident, and post-accident. It all in a sense blurs togther, I try and rember something pre-accident and I can't rember it clearly or the year or the chronolgical order of it gets flipped around and mixed up. Accident is a blur and sometimes I wonder what is a dream or what happend or there are just huge chunks of time missing from the day of the car accident and the time surronding the accident like the entire day or the months after words. Post-accident is like pre accident. All of this has lead to an obsession with time for me, I have to constantly know what time it is or have a watch or clock near me. If I can't tell the time or I'm not able to check the time it leads to an anxiety attack. I constantly have to ask people what day is it and what the date is. I've gotten where I carry a pocket calender with me everywhere because it is such an obession for me and I was constantly getting on my friends nerves by asking time related questions constantly. Luckly phones today have calenders and clocks on them but I carry a watch and calander out of fear that if my phone was to die I wouldn't be able to tell time or date. Has anyone here had this problem? If so how can I over come it? This leads to so much frustration for me, it would be one thing if the time surronding the car accident was just difficult for me to recall but now memories from was before the accident are hard for me to rember without getting jumbled and memories that come from the three years after the accident are all jumbled and it makes me so mad. GRRRR..... |

OMG~I thought I was the only one that was having problems with time, feeling like every thing is a blur, missing large chunks of time and feeling confused. Sorry that you feel this way but now I feel better knowing I'm not the only one. I wish I could help you feel better but I'm to new at this.

(((MINIME)))
(((Angel))) Thank you for your replys, I was really scared the time thing was a fluke or a sign of something else. Big sigh of relief I'm not the only one going through this. I wonder if this time confusion thing is common with PTSD. |
