My heart beats, my hands shake, my knees tremble and I am unable to react to what caused the anxiety attack. These attacks last for hours when triggered. It leaves me helpless, unable to respond to the stiuation comeing at me.
I have overcome my attacks by the help of a Labrador. She stays close to me all the time. I know she is watching and will respond to anything near me. I sleep well now, and without lights on (after years of leaving them on). There have been times that she has awaken me in the middle of the night at something going on. I am able to pull from sleep without having to fight the anxiety attack first. I now can respond with strength to the situation. I hope this helps you cope with the anxiety in some way. Each person showing the signs a little differently to anxiety, and each one having a soultion. Time helps a lot of people thru it, therapy helps others. Talking is another way people deal with anxiety attacks. For me it was the help of a beautiful Labrador. So please dont think it will last forever. There is a right solution for yours too. Wishing you all the best. Colors |

see pics of my lab on site.
he is a service dog... long story but he just turned 12 and no longer "useful" but for companion... and what a companion! We've been together since he was 8 weeks... and I worry that if I go away without him for 3 day pain clinic eval, he will die... too much stress or something? I can't live without my lab. I know what you mean and so glad you have one!

Oh, Sky, is there no way you can take him with you? They may understand that since he's a service dog he hould be with you at all times, and especially since he is so well trained would be no trouble at a clinic, and may even bring some joy to people while there. Or is it more that you worry about traveling with him, how that would affect him because of his age? I hope you can figure something out that's good for both of you.

Oh he travels fine. He's certified still... and by law I thought they had to take him... so I pushed the issue... and the opposition is like what hearing problems ? so I tried to get copies of all my tests and such : the doctor threw them away... so there's no proof of my need for a service dog, so they can deny me????
But he is great comfort and woul dbe helpful in the clinic for me too.

Wow, I didn't realize you were having so much trouble getting him in with you, I'm sorry to hear that. It sounds like they are not being very understanding about this. Is it legal for your doctor to destroy records? That's almost infuriating.
I hope all goes well at the clinic, none the less.
