I just heard about DBT in a local support group last night&am wondering if there's anyone out there who's been or is in treatment for PTSD w/this type of therapy? Can anyone suggest workbooks or books that would help me try this type of therapy? I have done some research on the net about DBT, so I know what it is, I just want to hear from anyone who's actually done it or can recommend a workbook or book that I can read or try to help myself. Thanks for any replies.

I'm using it on my own and some with my therapist. I really appreciate the skills I am learning.

I like the The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook, got a copy from my public library and will eventually buy one. I was also able to get via interlibrary loan a few of Marsha Linehan's videos, they are very good.

My primary diagnosis is PTSD.

Thanks for this!

I began it twice about 3 years ago. I did feel that it was helpful, but had to stop doing it in group for reasons, I'd rather not get in to.

I would like to do it again. I know you can get the workbook online from Amazon.
Thanks for this!

I ordered a workbook that I had checked out from the library&needed my own copy of so I could do the writing excercises from Amazon. It's for people w/PTSD&uses ACT therapy methods. They seem a little gentler than DBT-I don't think I could handle the DBT right now. So I am trying&thanks for the info&replies
