Just curious (again), for those who have undergone EMDR did your behavior/morals/attitude return to what it was before the traumatic event happened? Or was it more like a different person altogether?

EMDR did not affect my behavior or morals or attitude. All the essential pieces of me remained the same. EMDR helped me process traumatic events from the past and get unstuck, but it did not change who I am.
What are you experiencing?

My wife has continued to lie to me since the anniversary of the traumatic event. She is the one with PTSD and she just continues to engage in behavior that a wife shouldnt be doing.

EMDR doesn't affect lying. It only helps to process thoughts and memories. Won't change a person's behavior. It helped me to work through some traumatic issues but as a person I did not change from who I was before EMDR.

EMDR as well as other forms of T can help your wife find out why she is lying & cheating on you - and some times we never find out all the whys, but we heal enough from them that they no longer control us or our behavior.

I've only been doing EMDR a short time, however I haven't noticed any changes in my behavior. I would say that it is just helping me deal more effectively with the current traumatic event that we are working on.
