ok I just took the sanity test for the first time...
I had 4 red areas with PTSD being the highest.
I'm curious what different methods, meds, tharapy others have tried that have been effective in helping you move past PTSD

HI thelionkinlives and welcome

I have tried;

CBT - cognitive behaviour therapy
TFT - thoguht field therapy - (like acupressure)
EMDR - Rapid eye movement desensitization
Meds - 3 different types of anti-depressants
Visualisation
thats all i can remember at the moment - I see a psychologist once a fortnight - when I can get the appointment and have just started seeing a psychitrist to get my anti d's right

the best book I have read on ptsd is the ptsd sourcebook by glenn shiraldi - it shows all the symptoms and all differnet types of treatments available and has lots of breathing and relaxation techniques

hope this helps a bit

thanks this atleast gives me a starting point of things to look into. I've got to go on the offensive sometime, I get sick of allowing this junk to control me.

Thank you
