Apparently I have four major problems:
General Coping (68) Depression (58) Self-Esteem (92) Posttraumatic Stress (100) So, the first two (General Coping and Depression) don't seem too bad (68 and 58) and I don't really remember a time when I wasn't like that, so I'm not freaked out about those. The third one (Self-Esteem) doesn't surprise me. What does is PTSD! I guess I always associated it with war veterans and that type of thing. It scares me that I wasn't even somewhat aware of this. Any advice on how to go from here?? I'm just kind of shocked. ![]()

Just Passing Through,
Most people today have trauma issues and don't know it. You don't have to have lived through a war. See simplicityparenting.com...it's a unique story about trauma, if you can read the first part of the book. I lived through a very traumatic childhood. My therapist says there is "Big T" trauma and "Little t" trauma. Little t trauma is consistent, low level trauma, such as that one might face in an abusive home. Big T is a big event that happens once. I would seek out a therapist who is trained and versed in trauma issues, because they all are not trained in those issues, or who practices a form of therapy called IFS (Internal Family Systems), or someone who practices Somatic Experiencing. |
