I am currently switching from one benzo to another benzo. I feel like crap! It feels as though my brain is going through withdrawal symptoms. The benzo I am taking is for anxiety. I feel ok in the morning but by late afternoon and evening I go down hill. I feel sad and lost. And very lonely. I have no mental health support services such as a psychologist or psychiatrist. I only have my family doctor that gives me refills for my prescriptions and introduced a different benzo for anxiety since the old one wasn't working at all. The old one is Clonzapam (excuse my spelling) and the new one is Bromazepam. When I was taking clonzapam I would have to increase the dosage just to leave my home that is how bad my anxiety is. Bromazepam has reduced my anxiety levels greatly as well as some of my paranoia.

Has anyone ever switched benzos before? Have you experienced withdrawal symptoms?

I know I sound "needy" but I feel like crap from the neck up. The anxiety is all but gone.

I would go back to my family doctor tmw but I feel like a loser because I have to go to see often for refills, my paranoia regarding my health (I am always "coming down with some disease")...etc.

I have no friends or family that I can confide in for support. All I have is my 5 pound dog.

Zen888 , I don't know about switching benzos but I have been
on lorazepam for 10 months now for my anxiety. There is a website
called benzos.org or something like that but it can be a bit scary
reading about other peoples experiences with benzos , so I try
to stay away . I got enough worries , don't need anymore.
Just do a search on switching benzos and you find all kinds of stuff.
Whether they're true or not is another thing. Ask your doctor about it.
Take Care & Good Luck

(((Zen)))

I'm so sorry for your discomfort.

You will get through this.

Remember to self soothe during this difficult adjustment.

Play some lovely music, bathe in bubbles and drink herbal teas... while you remember to breathe in slowly, so that your tummy rises, and breathe out ~ nice and slow.

If you do it for a few minutes, you will feel your body adjust and adapt a little better... I'm hoping anyway.

Love and Comfort,
Night

Switching Benzos...
