I am a first time poster. Here is a little history. In '97 with the birth of my son I had horrible PPD and was out on zoloft & wellbutrin. Had a second child 2 years later without problems. Time passed and I was doing well, skip foreward 7 years and I had gastric bypass loosing 155# and looking good. Unfortionately my way of dealing with stress was taken away ( eating) and I became very anxious. I "learned" that alcohol could remove the anxiety but that became dysfunctional after awhile. (duh) Now I am on a coctail of medications and doing OK except for my hands shaking.
Here are my meds Lexapro 20 mg Buspar 30 mg Bid Lorazapam 1 mg bid Trazadone 150 mg for sleep (doesn't work I am usually up by 0400 I do drink a lot of caffine to get going after not sleeping but could some of the meds be causing the shaking> Thanks in advancwe Squeek97 |

Caffeine is liquid anxiety. It gives u that UP you need to get going, but the coming down time is anxiety riddled in most people. I have been caffeine free sine 1990 - and if I accidently am given a soda with caffeine in it - I get the shakes (mild), but I know what has done it so it does not upset me. I would try to get off the caffeine and of course no alcohol with those meds! I don't know alot about the meds side, but I have heard people just starting on Lexapro felt like their innards were shakin'. Check with a pharmacist about that cocktail - they usually know more about cocktails than the prescribing Doctor ! Good luck !

Tell me if my math is right: you lost 155# in 2004? If so, your metabolism is still recovering, making caffeine even harder to take. I guess that makes me the third vote to cut the coffee...
Also, if you drink diet sodas, or use any sort of aspartame based sweeteners, they can affect some people. I know that I can tell the difference between a day that I drink one of them versus days that I have two or three. My depression gets worse, which usually jump starts my anxiety. Another thing, though, is that Trazodone's actions on norepinephrine might be involved. Headaches, shaking hands, and restlessness can be associated with the NE system. Hope that helps.
