I took my first 5mg of Lexapro today at 5am.

It might *already* be taking effect.

Is this even possible?

Please share your experiences with Lexapro.

I'm taking it for low-grade anxiety and depression. It might've been low-grade but hey, I'm a whimp!

I mean I know I'm in good spirits becuz I kept listening to that Akinyele song (the really raucnhy one: lol) and I kept laughing over it and was enjoying the beat of the song. Then I posted the youtube link for that song to twitter so my best friends would laugh too.
I also don't feel like "chewing off my own leg" anymore.

When I took it I felt the effects very quickly. It also made me very apathetic. Your on a low dose, I was at 20mg. Good luck with it.

I take Pristique so I shouldn't comment but I was interested to see what Lexipro was, and just by looking at the side affects I would say no, I would never try it. I was interested because I have anxiety and depression, but I take Klonopin and Pristique in the morning and it has seemed to restore me to a normal functioning rate, but I wish I had more energy, but that is probably because of schizophrenia and a-typical anti-psychotics. I might actually take a higher dosage of Pristique because this is my worst time of year, and I am pretty depressed. It is a new anti-depressant and one thing that it doesn't cause for males is sexual dysfunction so that is my main complaint about some of the anti-depressants. I know it doesn't cause hormonal imbalances to not be able to have sex but it depresses me just to think about it.

It took about 2 weeks to take effect. I have found it to be a very good drug.

When I first started Lexapro it started working for me quickly. I started feeling much better by the end of the first week. I was taking it for depression as well. I did have to up the dose after awhile. And then again about a year later. Then it pooped out on me. But it did help alot for many years. Hope it does the same for you!

Thank you. That seems like useful information.
I read about Lexapro and hair-loss though. It's making me want to go on Effexor instead. =/
I wonder about this drug.

I had been taking lexipro and began at 10. I felt side effects such as dizziness, but didnt feel much better as far as depression goes until about 1 week and then at 20 mg at 2 weeks I felt much better. I never took 5 mg, but everyone is different. Maybe for you this worked. I think lexipro begins to work fast than some of the others.
