I just started Cymbalta about 4-5 weeks ago. I'm not having too many side effects, but the one that is bothering me the most is the restlessness - which is unfortunately exacerbating my insomnia - very frustrating when I'm trying to go to bed before work the next day, as it makes it difficult to get up in the morning.

I'm no longer taking Cymbalta, but one thing my pdoc suggested to me when I started the new antidepressant was to take it in the evening rather than in the morning so I could sleep better. He was aware that I had insomnia. Talk to you provider and ask if this is something that would possibley help with Cymbalta.

Good luck. It's the pits to not be able to sleep.

I'm just curious, is this the first ad you have ever taken? or have you tried others?

This is the first I've taken. I'm only on 30mg, to start. I tried taking it right before bed, but that just resulted in me waking up a few hours later unable to go back to sleep. If I take it in the morning, it takes me forever to get to sleep, but once I do, at least it's not interrupted.

It did that to me too, I just made sure I took it in the morning as soon as I woke up, and that solved the problem for me. It did mean I had to deal with nausea and stuff throughout the day, but it was better than not sleeping!
