Anyone have luck with Clozaril? My Doc is supposed to start it with me next week. I've taken quite a few antipsychotics and apparently haven't found one that works for a while. Thanks.

I don't have personal experience, but I know several people who do. It's been a real life saver for them. For the people I know, it was a last ditch effortt since they'd been on many other anti-psychotics first. It really helped to reduce or elminate voices and other symptoms.
Just be SURE to keep up with those blood tests to check for a safe white blood cell count. Good luck!! emmy |

I was on it breifly after stopping 2 years of ECT. Clozaril made me a drooling idiot inpatient and I wasn't happy with its sedative affects outpatient so was, therefore noncompliant (quit on my own which I DO NOT endorse doing) I guess symptoms were brought under enough control to be discharged at in pattient dose but I don't remember how much that was.
I was also resistant to getting the white cell count check done as often as was required. |
