I've been on Adderall XR (20 mg.) for a while now, and though I've been assured by my psychiatrist that the drug cannot act as an anti-depressant, nor can it change my personality, I do feel like it has that effect on me. I don't know if it's psychosomatic, but I feel like when I'm not taking it (as has been the case over the past few days), I find it extremely difficult to deal with negative emotions, and I find myself not able to commit very well to doing things. Additionally, I've been studying Buddhism lately, and as a result, I've admitted to myself that my job makes me very unhappy, which I'm sure plays into all of this: right now, I'm waiting (with high tension) to hear on two jobs I'm very interested in, and meanwhile I just cannot stand my job. I leave early quite often, and barely do any work. Does anyone have any insight or advice on what I'm feeling, or on the drug and its affects? Thanks.

When you feel like that is when you are not taking it? That would likely be just part of the withdrawal. Adderall is a stimulant in the C2 drug category. Your body is used to having that medication reularly and going suddenly without will cause problems. I suggest that you continue taking it if you are supposed to be on it. Going off the drug should only be tapered.

Perhaps, but I think I felt similar to this before I started taking Adderall. Maybe those were personal problems. Shrug.
