My doctor switched me from 150mg Wellbutrin XL to Lexapro 10mg yesterday. Since being on the Wellbutrin my blood pressure has stayed high along with my pulse rate. ( BP 140/100 and pulse has been 100-115) She has me quitting the wellbutrin cold turkey and starting the Lexapro in 5 days. I was only on the wellbutrin for 4 weeks and could tell a big difference in my moods. I haven't had the suicidal idealizations since starting the medicine. I'm just wondering if anyone has had problems with just stopping this med? Any physical or emotional situations that maybe I should watch for? I know that I should be on guard for the suicidal thoughts, that's a given. But anything else? I would welcome any feedback or thoughts. Thanks, Monty

Can I assume the doctor thought the Welbutrin was contributing to your high blood pressure? Its dangerous to not have blood pressure under control, regardless of if the drug works for your moods or not. Lexapro is known to have relatively few side effects--give it a chance. Good luck!
