seeing new pdoc. i have issues with taking meds, and she's been understanding about that, but my panic attacks are more frequent and severe than usual, and its interfering with my ability to maintain the relationship that i'm in. she prescribed lexapro and klonopin. i was on ativan previously, and didn't like the way i felt on it, and she told me klonopin worked similarly but might be less problematic for me. having been home a few hours and had a chance to look into these meds, am not sure why the lexapro. i don't think i'm depressed. issues that i have are interfering with my relationship and such, but never been diagnosed with depression. just wondering if anyone else has been prescribed lexapro other than for depression, and did it work? also would like to know if anyone had problems with klonopin as taken for panic. i am terrified of meds, and b/c of my ocd, tend to discard prescriptions, as taking them causes more anxiety, and i already have plenty of that. any info most welcome.

Lexapro is approved for use in geralized anxiety disorder, so I would assume that is why it was prescribed.

You have to stay with 'em...if your anxiety gets too bad, call your pdoc. I just changed meds and I feel awful...but I know I'll feel much better soon...just gotta hang on!
