This isn't for me I'm concerned for my mother. She is on zoloft, geodon, abilify, clonipin. Afew months ago her doctor gave her a higher dose of geodon. She's been on it for years and never had a problem with it. Now since she's been taking a higher dose she's been complaining about alot of things. She's always tired, her legs are hurting and very hard to keep still. She is also very tired and depressed all the time. This started ever since she's been taking a higher dose of geodon. She has been taking all of these medicines for years. I'm beginning to think that her body has just gotten use to them. So now they aren't working like thier supposed to. I also think that taken more geodon was the wrong thing to do because now she is getting all of these negative side effects. It's imparing her ability to fuction normally. She was diagnosed with ( forgive me if it's misspelled ) syhcizophrania ( I tried my best lol ) a few years ago. But I saw signs way before she finally was diagnosed, probably years before. I am noticing that she has been having problems with that. Although she doesn't tell anyone if this happens because she's afraid she'll be admitted to the hospital again and she's afraid of what people, even me, might think. She doesn't even tell her doctor. I told her that she needs to tell her everything but she won't listen to me. She's just very paraniod about all of this. I know that it has to do with the disease but something has to be said to her doctor. I already convinced her into letting me go with her to the doctor but we made a deal and I'm only aloud to talk about the medicine, nothing else. It's a very complicated situation and anyone that knos someone with this disease would understand this. So if anyone has any feedback for me please respond it would help me out alot. Just in case anyone asks ( which I know at least 1 person will ), no my mother does not know I am doing this and if she did she would be very mad at me, even if it's because I care and I love hear and I'm trying to help her. She doesn't see it that way because of the disease. She will feel as though I am against her or I'm out to get her. I hate that she feels this way but I know it's not my mom feeling like this it's the disease. Well thank you for taking time to read this and, thank you to those that respond

Call her doctor and tell her everything you are noticing. You can report to the doctor without her necessarily discussing her mother's case with you. I have had to do that on an occasion or so concerning my husband. The pdoc simply listens so he has my observations, and then he is able to have a clearer idea of what is going on when my husband comes in because when my husband is paranoid and delusional, he is rarely open and honest about his own symptoms (or perhaps he is just completely unaware). It will really help the pdoc cut to the chase and be able to more quickly make whatever changes need to be made. It is a very good idea to go to her appointments with her.

Can you suggest she visit her medical doctor since she is having symptoms that ought to be checked out? If you could convince her to do that, you could talk to her doctor before she goes to see if he will suggest to her that she see her psychiatrist too.

I echo Echoes If you can get her to go to her medical doctor for the side effects she does not like and blood tests, etc. for the meds and their side effects, it is likely you can maybe clue in the medical doctor and ask him to call her psychiatrist (go to his office or have someone you know/trust go and get some of his business cards so you can give the med doc one) and fill him in on what's going on? That way anything that goes down will be the two doctors' "fault" instead of yours.
