I am medicated with 40mg of citalopram, 1mg risperdal,20mg celexa(when needed), and St. John's wart.
With all of this I still have Panic attacks(gut wrenching fear, lose breath and shake). I am still depressed and have "serial killer" moments of anger.
I have been diagnosed with postpartum scycosis, borderline manic depressive and bi polar, and being monitored for schitzofrenia
The other day i got so mad at my dog just because she was in my face wanting some love that i puched a whole in my bedroom wall.I was so embarrased that i hid it from my boyfriend with a house coat.
I slammed a cart into the back of a lady's leg because she kept stoping infront of me in a grocery isle.
I have literally thrown my daughter into her crib because of her crying(she was over tired and scared of me)
I slam, kick, punch, bite, scream at anything. I try not to do it to my family but things have happend. I have even slammed my own head into the wall in a fit of rage.
This also effects daily things like going out. If I go to a mall and it seems really busy I leave because I know within 5 minutes i am going to want to beat somebody.
Now my question is should i be taking medication for depression and all these other things if my main problem is just my temper. Is there something for just anger that isn't going to turn me into a zombie?
I am going to a therapist and she just tells me I need a break from life. That doesn't work because I know eventually that i have to face reality again. I have gone to anger management and was more angery after each class than i was going in.
Any suggestions? Does anyone else have this problem or feel over medicated for the wrong things?

Please help me put my head together because the doctors don't seem to be able to.
Is my anger over medicated? Is my anger over medicated? Is my anger over medicated?

I do not know about anything else but until you resolved this anger issue ..maybe new meds ? GET your daughter to a safe place because next time you do this you could hurt her not meaning to...that would be sad and you can be arrested....Call T and get your kid to someone elses house until you have a handle on this

So Cstrong,

Are you saying that nothing bad has happened in your past that your mind might be trying to HEAL from? - hence the uncontrollable ANGER you are feeling.

OK cool about your kid a lot of folks don't think to make sure they are safe so you are a smart cookie Is my anger over medicated? Maybe its the wrong meds and not over medicated..some people do not tolerate ssris well like if they have Bi Polar ...maybe a second opinion on meds and even your dx...Your anger sounds a lot like Danny Bonaduces and a friend of mine who has Bi Polar dx...thats not to say you are BP or that that dx is the sole owner of anger like this. I know I have myself rammed a cart into someones ankles once in a store...she was a biotch ..I seldom get mad like that but I sure did,...so anyhow sorry for the long winded chat..I think a second opinion on the meds may be in order

The only thing I have any input on is the fact that you're taking St. John's Wort with your other anti-depressants. THEY DON'T MIX!

There's no way for me to tell whether this is a side effect of mixing the two or not, but if I was you, I'd get off the SJW immediately!

You may also want to post this in the Drug forum and get better help there!

You punched a hole in your wall and hid it with a coat?

What happens when they go looking for the coat?

cstrong82,

NEVER EVER take your ANGER out on a child!

You don't want YOUR CHILD to grow up emotionally damaged do you?

Your T should teach you some SAFE ways to release the ANGER.
Punch a pillow.
Also don't take the ANGER out on yourself either.

As for the meds- its not good to mix St Johns wart with prescribed meds.Contact your pdoc to check the dosage.

Thinking of you.

Please do not ever take SJW with prescriptions. They do not go together. Call your t immediately. Do not take the chance of hurting your child. I realize you wouldn't do it on purpose. I realize it's the weekend, but whomever prescribed the meds will be on call.

My best to you,

January

That was the main thing I was thinking as well. I just checked the Celexa info which states do NOT take SJW with this med. And most other SSRIs I've checked say the same thing. Did your Dr. tell you to take that with your other meds?

My mother went off Effexor so she could take SJW as she prefers to take only natural substances. She said SJW did nothing for her. My stepfather took it awhile for sleep and it didn't help. Others rave about it. But either way, taking it with your other meds could be having an adverse reaction!

Citalopram is the same thing as Celexa and Celexa's not used prn. Do you see a pdoc for this? I think you need to get your meds straightened out.

I posted a question a long time ago and I never got an answer, either. Don't take it personal, ok?

Where you need to post, if you still do after all the responses you got here, post it in the DRUG forum. I think there's a pharmacist that visits there and gives advise.
