Your doctor is telling you that your not sleeping is your problem? Or at least that is the way I saw it.
There are, of course, many reasons that we don't sleep, medication being ONE of them. Anxiety - as you said being another. My sleeping issues became a lot worse when I took Effexor and I firmly believe, in fact I KNOW it was the drug and not me! Either way - you have said that you are feeling better and that Effexor is helping with our anxiety. It always amazes me how each and every one of us react so differently to a drug.

Actually, I'm not really sure if it's doing anything yet. I have settled down over the last two weeks I've been on the drug but it's been such a low dose, I'm not really sure if it's the drug or a "placebo" effect.
We are going VERY slowly at increasing the drug so, hopefully, the side effects will be kept at bay. I slept much better lastnight. I agree - it's very interesting how different drugs affect different people. I only hope this one works for me and that I don't have to start experimenting with others. |

In my opinion...just about all of the antidepressants cause weight gain. I went from a size 10 to a size 18..in about 6 months time.
 Now I am on Wellbutrin and Cymbalta. I have had to make peace with this situation...as I have dieted to no avail. I must love myself even though..I am heavy. That is my conclusion. Heavy or thin..it is so important.  Take good care, Dottie

I agree that this is important. Though for me it is almost impossible. But I guess I will address these issues on the self-esteem board.
