I had taken Geodon before, but I had an abnormal EKG so they had to take me off of it. Well, my new doctor put me back on it, at a much lower dose. However, I have people telling me that I am walking like I am marching or 'shuffling'. I also have involuntary muscle movements.
I am quite embarrassed about the whole 'shuffling' thing. I have been on other antipsychotics and this has not happened to me before. However, I have experienced the involuntary muscle movements with Abilify, so that is not new to me. Oh and I had high prolactin levels with Risperdal. Needless to say, I've had my share of 'fun' when it comes to antipsychotics. ![]() Is this something I should tell my doctor? I am doing very well right now and I am afraid that , if he puts me on a different medication, I will go back to where I started. :/

I've been on Geodon for a couple of years now, at varying doses. The only real side effect I've had is tiredness, and I found that I have to split my dose into twice daily, otherwise I get some anxiety and restlessness during the day if I only take it at night. If I only take it in the morning, I can't sleep at night.
I have heard of people getting involuntary muscle movements - in fact it is listed as a potential side effect, with the worse case scenario being tardive diskenisia, which is an abundance of twitching and uncontrollable movements that antipsychotics can cause. I would definitely bring these things up to you pdoc. The dosage might be able to be adjusted to curb some of those side effects. Good luck.
