Is anyone taking this, if so what is your doc using it for? Think he is starting me on it for my Bipolar

I used it, briefly, but I was unable to tolerate the side effects. I get all the side effects, all the time. It does get frustrating, sometimes.

The good news is that this (oxcarbazepine) is the improved version of Tegretol (carbamazepine). It's supposed to work just as well, but produces fewer side effects....just not few enough for me.

My pdoc told me today I was SE sensitive....what a surprise...lol....I took a tab and now I recall how it makes me sooooo sleepy. I see a nap in the near future! Thanks Lar!

i was on it for bipolar. once i my health insurance takes in effect then i will be back on it.

Thanks Blackdragon. I have been on it for a couple days now and although I usually have to take a nap late afternoon from the drowsiness it I can see it is helping with my Bipolar already. I am doing 150mg twice a day and next week I am going too increase it. Another thing I noticed with it though is that "antsy feeling I am having but hey I will take that over the low lows.
