Can anyone assist me here?
I dropped a pill on the floor and before I had time to find it Demolition swallowed it. ( Amazingly he will never freely take his own damn medicine)

He seems fine for now. It has been about an hour.

Anyone know anything about dogs and meds etc????

Hun the first thing I would do is call poison control, beleive it or not they can often help with animals too.

Secondly, dont let the dog eat or drink anything else just in case its not ok.

Heres what I was able to find:

Aspca Animal Poison Control Center Hotline
As the premier animal-oriented poison control center in North America, the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center isyour best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Make the call that can make all the difference: (888) 426-4435. A $55 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card.

Other than that put in a call to your local vets office, see if they have an emergency service that can answer that question for you.

I found this. Its not very encouraging, but then it doesnt tell me WHAT dose they are going by...

In dogs, lamotrigine is extensively metabolized to a 2-N-methyl
metabolite. This metabolite causes dose-dependent prolongations of the PR interval, widening of
the QRS complex, and, at higher doses, complete AV conduction block.

In case your wondering all of those things are to do with the heart. But i still really would not panic as it seems like a very small dose.

Ack!!! I'm so sorry to hear that happened...but so glad to hear your dog is, from posting prior to mine, ok.

Whew, I'd have been in a panic. I've dropped meds before and same thing...was on my hands and knees to find it.

Hi, I take Lamictal for Bipolar Disorder, and today my b/f accidentally gave my boston 75mg, he thought it was her pain med.

We tried calling our vet, but the office staff was less than helpful. by the time I got home from work she had it in her system for 2 hours.
I have watched her closely all evening, and she seems fine, but I would appreciate any feedback as to how your dog is doing now. I know it has been quite some time since your dog took the 25mgs?

I read a post from one woman, that the ASPCA told her her dog would have to take 5 times 150mg of Lamictal to be in danger.

Thanks for listening,

Karen
