Hey yall, 3 weeks ago I started seeing a new pdoc... She put me on Abilify 5mg, then I had to increase to 10mg as the 5mg werent doing anything for me... I feel much better on it through-out the day but at night things get outta control... I would call and ask my doctor but they are closed till Monday... Any suggestions? Should I take 5mg at night and 5mg during the day?

What kind of symptoms are you having at night?

It would be best to take your meds as prescribed...just to be safe.

Can you call a local ER and ask a nurse about side effects? My hospitalization has a number to call on the card for 24/7 nurse assistance/information.

Did your pharmacist include a paper about the medicines and side effects?

TC. If you get too much of it, go to the hospital?

I don't know what kind of effects you are having but the pharmacist can tell you. He will let you know if you should call your pdocc. Take care and good luck.

Hi!

I did a little research and found that Abilify has a half-life of approximately 75 hours - which means after 75 hours, half the medication is still in your blood - basically. So, it's unusual that you'd be feeling it wear off by night. It would help to know what p[ositive effects yoru receive from it and if you feel these positive effects are wearing off by night. The dosing rage is 10-15mg/day. Are you feeling more anxious at night? more depressed at night? There are depressives who get more depressed in the evening rather than the morning - so It may be that the med hasn't had the time to fully cover your depressive symptoms - as it takes at least 2 weeks to reach a steady plasma state.

If your doctor is not available - it may be helpful to call your pharmacist and ask if it's possible to split the dosages into 5mg & 5mg.

I hope this helps.
