Hey guys. I have a question about risperdal. I'm on it for my hallucinations. I've already have had a few side effects but there's something I can't find any info on... Is it possible that risperdal can make you super aware of your breathing and blinking? It's been several weeks since I started the med and I've had this weird thing where I'll become aware of my breathing and blinking. It's uncomfortable. Is that a side effect? I'm not diagnosed with any form of OCD...

I haven't heard that reported as a side effect, but anything's possible as people react to meds differently. I know I'm on risperidone and have never experienced that, but I do get some weird side effects from it. I'd talk to your Dr. about it, or you could ask your pharmacist. I sometimes do that as they actually know more about meds than most Dr's. It was my pharmacist who helped figure out which of my meds was causing my tachycardia.

I did not care for the medication, I just "felt weird" and when I started to Lactate due to it , I was done with it.

I'm currently on Risperdal and I've experienced a few side effects, nothing major though. I did have increased anxiety from it and I started to lactate. I haven't heard of the side effects you're talking about, though. I would suggest talking with your pdoc about it next time you see them.
