Short answer, yes, there can be.

Quote:
Psychiatric side effects including insomnia, personality disorder, impotence, hallucination, euphoria, psychosis, decreased libido, anxiety, depression, mood problems, and suicide attempts have been reported. Two cases of panic attacks have also been reported.

Depression and mood problems were dose related.

Absolutely decreased libido. Also inability/decreased ability to climax. I mentioned this when you you were giving Topamax consideration because you were also mentioning some of these libido/climax issues relating to some other medication and how you and your doctor were modifying your meds a bit to deal with the issue. Topamax was added by itself to my medication regimen and this was a very noticeable side effect. The side effect has decreased only slightly over time but I deal with it.

I haven't read this anywhere but I swear I also have little to no interest in shopping any more. It just doesnt hold any appeal for me. That's not a bad thing for me. (No spending sprees) I've never heard anyone else ever mention this in relation to Topamax though. Bear with me, even though this sounds random. I sort of wonder if Topamax dulls a pleasure part of the brain some how. I don't know. That may be a dumb hypothesis. I just know it was a significant change in my personality and not one I expected or would have even imagined possible.

Thank you, PL. I am afraid that I have it. That would mean I will need to discontinue because I cannot live like that. You say however that things got a little better - how much better? Are you able to climax? Do you produce lubrication or do you have to use lube?

Probably took a few months fir improvement? Yes I can climax- just takes a much longer time. Lubrication takes longer too, but not a problem.

I just edited my post above about a weird side effect, not exactly directly related, but something I've wondered if it could have a connection. Medications are funny things.

I will halve the dose first, hoping that it would produce an improvement.

I don't know about anyone else. All of my meds always cause me to not be able to reach a climax. Well I found something that works. It's herbal. AdLib & Steel Libido. You DO NOT need to use them together. Either or. They both work wonders.
