I've been on it for about 2-3 years now on and off, but mostly on because when i try to come off it to try something different i get much worse or something, i don't know.. But it seems like a mild antidepressant, nothing potent or strong enough maybe for my symptoms.. like almost like taking a placebo? I think when i first started it, it worked better. what does anyone whos been on it think? (i dont think it gets talked about nearly as much as the other antidepressants)

I haven't been on it, so I can't specifically answer your question, but since no one else has responded yet, I will say something.
I have been on many other anti-depressants, and some I thought of as mild were the hardest for me to get off of. I suggest you talk to your doctor about the problems you are having with it. ![]() |

That's a good question! I just started taking it yesterday and was wondering the same thing. This will be the 4th or 5th antidepressant I've tried since 2004. I hope it works for more than a few months!

It actually is considered mild but mostly because of few side effects. It shot me through the roof though. So for me it was not mild at all.... But which med helps is individual, my current one helps me and it seems like it is seen as weak and is not for me, while others didn't help at all.

It's a pretty standard SSRI. It depends on the dose. I'm actually on 60mg, the highest anyone would ever prescribe it,and most doctors don't dose above 40mg. So to me, it is a heavy drug, because it totally stops my panic attacks and well, it has to work pretty hard to do that.

Anyone have any negative experiences with celexa? I feel like when i first went on it, it was stronger for the anxiety. Now its almost like taking a placebo but not completely.. I'm so confused on what its doing for me.. its almost like taking a caffeine pill.. (i also got more anger on higher doses)
