Hi guys,

I wanted to give you all some inspiration about coming of off klonopin...I read one of the posts about benzos and I wanted to share what I have been through.

I have PTSD due to an abusive relationship and was a full time grad student in clinical counseling, applying to PhD programs when I met the young man who ruined my life - that was 2 years ago.

After dealing with the court system for 9 months I had to leave school because I was paralyzed with fear, depressed, and had the most horrendous intrusive thoughts in the world.

Last summer I began taking klonopin, .5 mg 3 times a day. In April, I began to taper down by .125 mg every 2 weeks. It was very hard in the beginning...but I am now down to only .125 mg 3 times a day - that's it!!! And even that makes me sleepy...

And oddly, I am hungry, have more energy, and I am gaining weight!! I have the hardest time the first 4 days in, but after that, I am ok for the most part. I usually get a lot of dizziness, nausea, headaches, etc....

Yea, it is possible. The thing to remember is slowly decreasing it. I too got off of it that way. The drug was excellent for the trama i went through, i, gradually started drinking the "old yerba matte tea," along with a 4 pinches of some goldenseal and not only did i start to blossem and get back on my feet, I was relaxed, aware and self confident. I had added a daily 2 mile walk in any kind of weather,- all bundled up with hat and gloves and boots, and carried on like a hungry to live sea lion, renewed with enthusiam, because of the respite of Klonopin, a facinating drug, if used with care.
