Just to elaborate a little on my above post. I was previously taking Prozac (fluoxetine) for over a year. I felt totally detached an emotionally switched off. The feeling of detachment stopped when I changed to lofepramine (a tricyclic) however I am now feeling they are making no difference, certainly not helping. I am now reducing the dosage over time to stop them completely. The thing is I've tried most of the drug groups and now feel there's no alternative but to try without anything. Luckily my depression is not too severe. I do also have a dependence on alcohol which while under control has worsened slightly on the tricyclic drugs. I wondered if anyone else felt they just stopped working after a few months ?
