My doc suggested a switch to Viibryd today because after 10 years, Lexapro is starting to "poop out." Anyone had experiences with Viibryd? Good? Bad? Ugly?

He gave me a 30-day sample pack, but said that most of his patients report not being able to take it due to nausea (hence the samples instead of just writing the Rx).

Have you taken it?

I am taking it now. I haven't had any nausea or GI issues. The only side-effect I am struggling with is increased appetite/weight gain. It has really helped with my nightmares, not sure if it's really doing much else. Worth a try.

I've been on Viibryd for about 3-4 weeks now (and also switched from Lexapro since it pooped out). At first the nausea was pretty bad (though it was nothing compared to the nausea from Trazodone), but now I experience absolutely none, even if I take it without food. I'm liking it a lot so far. I feel like it's definitely helping, and I'm now at the full 40mg.

I was on 40 mg for over 6 months. It was okay for depression, seemed to work well for anxiety as well. But I had to stop (caution: to stop titrate SLOWLY down)due to extreme sleepiness.
I had some GI symptoms but they went away after a couple weeks.

I've been on viibryd now for over a year or so and i've had no side effects as long as i don't take the 40mg, if i take the 40 i get stomach upset and increased heart rate..i tolerate lower dosages of meds better though due to senstivities to most meds...

i've been on alot of different antidepressants and to no avail they each have failed to work or caused lots of side effects. I have to say the viibryd has worked well for me.

Good luck!

Everyone is different of course.
I haven't had any obvious side-effects, except maybe vivid dreams.
My mental state is somewhat better now, but quite likely not due to viibryd itself.
good luck.
