So I still have trazodone prescribed to help me sleep, but I am not taking effexor anymore since it didn't help...just caused bad side effects if I forgot to take it or didn't have it with me to take.

So instead of effexor or anti-depressants in general(since they don't help) I've been prescribed Zyprexa(olanzapine) its supposed to help the anxiety and depression it may be to early to say if its helpful or not but so far it has potential, it also seems to help my appetite which is a good thing...since I lean towards being underweight due to not being able to eat enough or digest well because of the anxiety interfering.

Then there is the valium for acute anxiety, so if I am feeling on the verge of an anxiety attack or am in a situation likely to cause that. Obviously its best to only take that when necessary...which I take seriously especially after my experience with klonopin. So yeah not sure my point of posting this, but here it is.

if you have a anxiety attack, don't expect valium to get you out the hole , you will be waiting hours after for something to happen. I used to take , (WAIT FOR IT ) 100 MG a day when bad and it did f*** all. 2mg Ativan 20 minutes later and sweet. PS how do you forget to take your meds if ill, and how do you no you wont forget different ones.

Well hopefully I'd manage to take it before it escalates that far, otherwise its not as effective, still calms me down though. It also effects me pretty quickly even quicker than the klonopin.

As for forgetting I may have left them at home when I went other places and have to take the bus home and be late on taking it or because my short term memory sucks and I simply forget to take it.......at least what I am taking now doesn't really cause withdrawl soon after missing a dose. I suppose I just hope I remember to take them or don't forget to bring some with when I go somewhere but its likely I'll forget here and there.

If you have a cell phone which I assume damn near everyone does , Set alarm reminders on your phone to take your medications.

That doesn't exactly help then I don't know what the hell the alarm is for, works best just to try and get in the habit of taking it certain times I usually get up around 8 in the morning so I take the olanzapine around 9 in the morning and 9 at night and the valium and trazodone as needed for anxiety and sleep. So its not that hard to remember, I more have the issue of forgetting to bring meds with me if I go somewhere overnight or something and have left them at home because I got side tracked while getting ready to go.

Haven't really missed any doses on the new meds, just the effexor I was taking before and so I got to experiance the withdrawl headache and such.

So is anyone else taking valium, olanzapine and trazodone or one or two of those? Or am I the only one sort of want to discuss experiences with those meds instead of getting a list of how not to miss doses as i am sure I've tried everything in the book.

your only getting advice about missing dose,s because that may be your main problem, if you miss a morning dose you carnt take it in the afternoon you have to wait till next morning. take them out night before an leave them against you coffee cup , med are designed to take at the same time every day to get an even dose running through you 24-7 get that right an you may not need meds like olanzapine

Understandable, its just not my main problem...taking the effexor I missed two doses(still took it when I was able to get home and do so). But with the current meds I haven't missed any doses just saying it could happen.

With the effexor on the info that came with it it said to take the missed dose as soon as you remember or if its close to the next dose not to take it and just wait....the two times I missed it I took it a couple hours late. either way I took it for over four weeks and it didn't help. The doctors in the psych ward wanted me to try olanzapine because anti-depressants don't work and they've had some success using that sort of thing to help depression. With that one I take it in the morning and the evening at the same time.

I am well aware meds one takes daily are meant to be taken at the same time.

That last post of mine may have been a little b****y I was in kind of an irritable mood yesterday over my mom and her boyfriend arguing early on in the day, kind of made me wish I was still in the psych ward at least it was quieter there I realize people here are trying to be helpful though.

Don't worry about it we all have bad days, but don't wish yourself in the zoo.

Oh I know, sometimes wishes do come true and thats not one I should strive for. I think what I really want is a place of my own even if it's just a cheap apartment, if such a thing even exists anymore.
