Hi-

I posted before about the cymbalta giving me headaches...I am only on 30 mg, as a starter dose. I see the pdoc next week..I could not tolerate Pristiq because of the headaches. Maybe it is just my body's reaction to the NSRI's?? Today I woke up w/ a headache, not a migraine. I do suffer from migraines. I drank some coffee which relieved it a little bit.

If you take Cymbalta, what time do you take it?? I used to take my zoloft at night, so i would sleep though the tremor part of that drug's effects on my body.

I am starting to think Wellbutrin maybe the only thing I can take....SSRI's are out, now the NSRI's may be out as well.

How long did you stay with Pristiq? It might be possible that the headache side effect could dissipate with some time.

I would say to definitely take cymbalta in the morning, it has a norepinephrine kick that would severely disturb your sleep ... unless you just actually get sedated on it.

I took Cymbalta for a week and quit due to extremely worrisome twitches most involving my legs jerking (at one point I involuntarily make a click with my tongue ... damn, I panicked.). Effexor did this to me too, so I quit it after my first try on Effexor but agreed to try it again almost a year later ... twitching was minimal and faded away, but it never stopped at increasing my heart palpitations. Obviously SNRI's are probably a bad match to my anxiety and not just short term.

What is it about SSRI's that you can't take them?

The SSRI's flare up my neuro condition. I did not take the cymbalta today, I want to see if I wake up without a headache tomorrow.

Thanks!

I took Cymbalta for years without any issues at all, except after several years it quit working on my depression.

Well, so far, no headache. The only thing I can try is wearing my old eye glasses tomorrow, and take the Cymbalta...They are the same prescription. so maybe my frames are to blame?

Why not take pain killers for your headache

One of the many drugs they've tried on me. No real or maybe minimal mental effect/benefit, but it would make me have horrid hot flashes - like I felt like I was going to combust. The thing is... years later I received a Type 2 Diabetic Dx, and probably was that even back when on the Cymbalta which was probably exacerbating the normal hot feeling I would get when my sugar spiked.

And you think that's a good idea? Your liver is probably screaming...

Thanks Lost Key-

I get migraines. Now I am getting headaches (not migraines) from either the cymbalta or the new eyeglass frames. I have no idea of the condition of my liver as I have been on clonazepam for over 15 yrs for the movement disorder, and then all of other meds they tried to help me. I do not want to start taking tylenol or advil daily.

Rebound headaches are horrific...

I take 60 mg of Cymbalta in the am and 60 mg at night, which is I believe the max dose. I have no bothersome side effects of which I am aware. Helps with chronic joint and back pain too--can be prescribed for that-so it's a good fit for me.
