Ok i stopped taking my paxil 5 days ago and i am wondering if im starting to have withdrawls? I was up for 48 hours and slept for 10 after i finnally got to sleep.. i have been drinking energy drinks and juice but not eating a whole lot.. I have a headache right now that on the scale of 1 to 10 it would rank at a 7. I have been having confusing stomache aches where i cant tell if its hunger pains, nausea, or pre vomiting pains.. I also am having vision problems where i feel that i am looking through thick lenses and i am having head rushes and tremors. I was at 25mg of paxil CR.

Anyone know if this is withdrawls or just from the no sleeping and anorexia like symptoms that could be the beginnings of a manic episode?

I was on 10 mg of paxil and went though major withdrawl. Paxil is one of those medications that have a warning attached that you shouldn't go off it cold turkey due to exlectric zap like headaches, dizzyness and so on. some people have actually ended up in the hospital from withdrawing on paxil. contact your prescribing doctor so tha the or she can take you off it through decreasing the dosage in stages instead of you gonig cold turkey so that you don't have this problem.

Even if you don't go cold turkey, you get the withdrwas, and I'm sorry to say, they are the worst. The good thing is after that and when you start taking the new medication, you can see the BIG difference.
Hope it works out!

My doctor said that she changes the person over to Prozac and then decrease it's dosage. Prozac has a longer half-life. So, there is less withdrawal symptoms. If tapering the dose doesn't make withdrawal bearable, then you might suggest this trick to your doctor.
