I know it's bad but I've taken name brand Klonopin for years. Recently switched to generic and feel awful. Racing heart, exhausted....Anyone else notice a difference? Thanks!

Hi Amybee, I have only taken the generic and have never experienced anything like that but you should definitely ask your doctor about it

I am sorry you are feeling that way.

The same thing happened to me but it was Topomax and it's generic. The generic just did not work for me.

I've never taken anything but the generic, but sometimes there can be differences between brand names and their generics that are noticeable. I've never heard that in reference to klonopin, but that could be it.

Your body is used to the compound of clonazapam. Klonopin is the same drug, but sometimes the compounds can vary even a bit. I would call your doctor and inform them of the effects. As it isn't an anti-depressant, you can stop if it is taken as an as needed basis. Be careful if you're on a strict routine with it.
Good luck.
