Has anyone suffered any sexual side effects from Topamax? I know about the stupifying effect, but I wondered if Topamax has any negative sexual side effects like so many of the other psych drugs have. I didn't read about any on the drug information sheet, but I wanted a real world opinion from the experts....

Any Topamax users out there who can advise on this? I know it sounds dumb, but I don't want to take the plunge until I have some idea of how my sex life is going to be affected. Got to take our pleasure where we can find it, right? Thanks.

Well, I decided to go ahead and start it, so I guess I'll find out soon if it has any negative effects...

If there isn't anything about sexual side effects on the medication info sheet or website, chances are it doesn't effect sexual drive(s).
Many cases it is not always a med, but the actual depression a person may be going through that is affecting one's libido. Medical conditions,related to hormonal imbalances (includes thyroid),diabetes,heart disease,hypertension just to mention a few, can be culprits too. Give the med a try, no sense of denying yourself of possible benefit(s) you might gain. If it creates a problem talk to your pdoc, there may be alternatives. Lots of luck with this matter.

No sexual side-effects from Topamax. If you feel you are having some, give it a month and see if it is not some fluctuation in hormone levels or other normal cycle.
