I like it because it helps me sleep. It also gives me a feeling of peacefulness that I didn't have before. I do find that I want to eat more at night since taking it, so I see how people can gain weight on it. It's so easy to eat late at night when your strength is down. At 200 mg it did make me really hungover in the morning. It would take until noon for the effects to wear off. I'm now at 100 mg. I still get some of the benefits of seroquel but without being hungover for so long.

Not a big fan of Seroquel since it causes weight gain, fatigue, and more weight gain and more fatigue!! One thought-Latuda!!!

I really like it.

I'm on 200 mg, for anxiety and as an additional mood booster adjunct to my anti-D..

I've been on it since March and haven't gained any weight. I do find it makes me drowsy though.

I hate it. And I'm only on 100 mg a day. It makes me tired all 24 hours, and it messes with my speech.

I am the opposite. I absolutely love Seroquel! It's the second most effective med I've ever tried, only beaten by Zyprexa by a slight margin BUT, unlike Zyprexa, it hasn't caused any weight gain whatsoever, and has very few and very minor side effects.

Latuda and I aren't friends. I tried it for about 4 months or so, and I didn't find it to be particularly effective, plus, because you have to take it with a significant amount of food, I would vomit at least once a week because I didn't have enough food in my stomach.

I liked Seroquel and it certainly helped me sleep. Had to go to bed earlier than I was used to but as long as I took around 6PM it didn't give me any trouble the next day. But when the doctor quit giving me samples I found I couldn't afford without insurance.

I've been on Seroquel for about a year and half. I am up to 600mg of the IR version.. Once your body gets used to it, you don't have the fog all day. Took me about 4 months to get to that point. Now I sleep a solid 8 hours and wake up with no fog. I guess depending on your physiology it can be different.

With Seroquel all I wanted to do was eat junk. I look it at night and it made me too sleepy during the day. They sent me to the sleep center to see if I was having sleep apnea because I was so tired. I only took 200mg a day at bedtime. My friend on the other hand feels that he cannot live without Seroquel, but sleeps over 12 hours during the day and is up all night.

I absolutely hated Seroquel. I gained a huge amount of weight that was very difficult to lose even after I stopped taking it. It made me fuzzy. I couldn't think or talk right. And I was tempted to overuse it because it produced sleep.

I have found that the very old med, Thorazine, used just for sleep or for agitation, has been a great drug for me. It is the old style anti-psychotic, but at lower doses is considered a major tranquilizer. Thing is you can't really abuse it or overdose on it so it is completely safe. There are some side effects, but not at really at low doses.

Love my seroquel! Helps me sleep! I take just 12.5mg at night (about an hour before bed) and I'm good! We started with the full 25mg but it gave me that horrid hangover effect, so I chopped it in half and voila! I haven't had the weight/eating issue, likely, I'd guess, cause it's such a small dose.

For some reason the 400mg tablets of Seroquel gave me heart palpitations so instead of taking 800mg I dropped back down to 600mg.

My doc gave me a script for 50mg of Seroquel, mostly to help me sleep but also he is not crazy about having me on Wellbutrin and Zolft with bipolar history and wanted to put me on something he said is geared for bipolar. I wanted ambien, he said let's try this first. I've read previous threads regarding Seroquel and this was the latest so instead of starting a new one I thought I would bounce this one back up. I have had trouble falling asleep for the past 10 years! Only ambien has helped. Will this really help me?

So now I am on Wellbytrin 100mg 3x day, Zolft 100mg 1x, Seroquel 50mg (for now) 1x and Xanax .5 PRN.

I'm already a big guy, and my weight normally fluctuates. So I little gain doesn't bother me. I'm actually losing weight albeit slowly but I am losing weight on Seroquel IR.

ambient does nothing but put me to sleep but i can't stay asleep on it and it never stops the ruminating racing thoughts. i take 1/2 50mg. seroquel nightly and it gives me the deepest sleep ever with vivid dreams. only issue is it takes about an hr. for me to wake up but consistent nightly sleep is my tradeoff for the grogginess. i work out daily (have done so for 30 yrs.) and eat small portions and never gained weight on seroquel..in fact have dropped from 125 lb. to 97 lb. try it and if it doesn't work, search for an alternative. melatonin, benadryl, etc. have done nothing for me, esp. calming the racing thoughts.

Nothing keeps me asleep either. I usually wake up every hour or other hour. I can get 6 uninterupted hours with ambien, or trazodone 100mg + 1mg Xanax but I hate wasting my xanax on just sleep.

Ok, I took 50mg of seroquel at work just before I left because it takes about 45 mns to get home. I got home did some stuff around the house and in my office and wasn't even yawning. By this time it was over 1 hour. So I took another 50mg pill waiting another hour, a few yawns but I did notice I was feeling more relaxed so I went to bed. I think I fell asleep in about an hour or so which is really very good for me! I did not wake up every hour. I slept 3 hours, woke up, slept 2 hours woke up, slept 1 hour and stayed up. Not bad! Better then trazodone on it's own and around the same with xanax. I think tonite I will try 150mg.

BTW, no hang over effect afterwords, and I do not feel like a zombie. SO for now any ways, I'm ok with seroquel.

Are you taking the XR version or the immediate release? I take the regular (immediate release ) and it knocks me out cold. Trazadone gave me horrible insomnia, Seroquel is the miracle drug for me. Without it I will not sleep.

Immediate release of course

My doc admitted he was prescribing a very low dose, I gave it a chance but realized that 50mg will never do any thing for me. I am encouraged with just 100mg!
