I am borderline p and rapid cycling bipolar.....I am on Seroquel <200mg> and recently on Lamictal <25mg sliding up to 200mg in 6 weeks> Read that Lamictal is used for rapid cyclers and borderlines....wondering if that's all I should be on....I have instant anger issues, and I am easily "triggered" into crying, cutting, screaming.....Should the Lamictal resolve those issues? I am seeking a new therapist...I just am not comfortable with mine and my pdoc sees me only for med management and seems to be frustrated with me since I don't respond well to Lithium....weird. I think I should be seeing a psychologist, not a therapist....any feedback??

Lamictal, is a great med but you need to work with a therapis or even a pdoc on behavioural patterns too, meds are great along with talk therapy.
You may need to have a combination of a med with the Lamictal, but only a pdoc can determine that and work along with you. You say you are seeing a therapist, aren't you seeing a pdoc? Therapists and Psychologists can't dispense prescriptions for meds, just pdocs. And to answer your question, it wouldn't hurt to be seeing someone for "talk therapy" and also keeping up with a pdoc, mine have always staggered their appts. with me which I find beneficial, say, like every other week, in the begining for me it was once a week, it can help, as long as you are comfortable with them, cause if you do not gel well with one another that can cause conflict too, we have to give people and things a chance or even multiple before we determine they won't work.
Whatever you decide, I am wishing you lots of luck with this and like I say "don't give up", there are good pdocs and meds out there, that can work miracles.
Take care now, okay? and stop by the forums whenever you wish
