Hi there. Has anybody found a way to actually LOOSE weight which has been gained as a direct result of being prescribed Seroquel? (Other name is Quitiepine). I have slowly gained 16llbs over one year. I have been anorexic four times in my life so I know exactly how to loose weight, yet all my normal ''ploys'' have failed dismally. I'm getting rather desperate. HUGZZ.

BMI Calculator Plus: Personalized BMI for Your Body Type and Metabolism

get your daily calorie target.

I've lost 20lbs while still on seroquel and lithium.

I did nothing but sit on my behind and eat within the calorie limit.

Thankyou for responding. I'm in the process of getting back to calorie counting. That's how I became very very thin years ago and I have remained so. It was in the year that followed on starting Seroquel and Depokate that the weight gain became a big problem. HUGZZ. XXXXXXXXXXXXX

Seroquel definitely caused me to gain a lot of weight, and it also causes me to crave sugar. But then, almost all psych meds do the same thing. It's very frustrating.
Thanks for this!

I gained a ton of weight from Zyprexa which is very similar to Seroquel, and the only way I was able to lose it was by going off it, changing my diet and exercising more.

Fortunately Seroquel hasn't caused m.e to gain any weight.
Thanks for this!

Hi again. Oh yes, in my personal research Zyprexa has been shown to cause people the most weight gain BUT I don't know if there's ever been 'official' experiments regarding this issue. I have tried stopping meds (Seroquel and Depokate) but although I did loose 7llbs faily quickly, my original problems why I was given these meds came back with a terrible vengeance. I guess I have to learn to live with the 'fat' me and not suffer unbearable symptoms!!

Thankyou all for your input. HUGZZ. xx
