My insurance denied to pay for topamax so for now it's going to be tkaing Depakote ER those huge pills. Anyone have a time frame on when that should start helping my moods and stop this cycling; hopefully I wiill find a way t o get the topamax because I could really stand to lose a few pounds and it would be easier if I weren't so hungry alll the time. Thnaks in advance.

I was in a mixed episode when I was put on Depakote. It fairly quickly (a week or so) helped with the agitation & restlessness, but didn't do anything for the depression so I had to try other things.--Good luck.--Suzy
