It's been really bad the past few months. I wonder if it's related to the new generics?

I take my morning meds (Cymbalta & Geodon) and about two hours later I am falling asleep at my desk. Literally! I know it's not the Cymbalta and I'm sure it's the Geodon. I tried not taking it one morning for an experiment and I was wide awake all morning. Unfortunately, I also got very anxious and I couldn't focus on my work after a few more hours. So skipping the morning dose is a no-go.

I'm between pdocs (mine retired) and I'd like to bring this up to the new pdoc when I finally get in to him. I'd like it even better if I already had some idea of anything that could help this. Any suggestions?

Geodon made me really drowsy for about the first five months I took it. I took both my doses at night because of it. now it doesn't make me sleepy any more. I miss that. I liked that it knocked me out.

When I took it I hated the sleepiness. For me it wasn't a nice type. Once I had to force myself to go home when I was downtown, I just wanted to lie down in the street and nearly did! When I could lie down at home it was very unpleasant, it was like my body tried to fight for its life, like a feeling if I fell asleep I would die. When the tiredness decreased the anxiety reached levels I don't have unmedicated, so thats that too. Wrong med for me.

There is no way I would be able to take geodon in the morning and function. The best I could do was take it early evening, go to bed, and hope the drowsiness wore off in time to drive to work in the morning. It got to where that didn't work and I just had to discontinue the geodon. It just wasn't safe to drive or try to function at work on at all.

Recently my pdoc had me try latuda which is apparently geodon with some modifications to lessen the drowsiness side effect. It was better than the geodon, but I still had more drowsiness than I was comfortable with.
