Somebody posted a similar thread regarding Cymbalta and I thought it would be worth posting about Celexa.
I know we are all different but I am curious if Celexa worked well for you, what other AD worked for you? I can't take Celexa anymore due to daytime fatigue / TMD. I have been trying new meds to see what will work and have come up empty so far. I have tried Lexapro which doesn't really help my depression and gives me GI pain, Pristiq which was really bad for my TMD, Wellbutrin which I am allergic to, and Cymbalta which gives me horrible GI pain. I am thinking an SSRI would be best but I am not sure if I should try Zoloft, Viibryd, or Fetzima. I know Fetzima is an SSNRI but my pdoc thinks it would be good for the fatigue as it is known to be more activating.

I don't know if I mentioned to you that before Fetzima I was on Effexor for a year and the year before that Pristiq. Both SSNRI's neither one very effective. And yet here Fetzima an SSNRI is working so good......so who the hell knows. At one time Celexa was fairly effective for me.

I just switched from Pristiq to the generic of celexa about a month ago. It's kinda hard to tell right now if it's effective, I think it makes my anxiety worse. I went to the doctor today for a follow up on it and he upped my dose to 40mg and prescribed buspirone 5mg. I hope whatever you choose to do works for you.

I didn't know you were on Celexa before. I'm glad Fetzima is working so well for you. Hopefully I can find something that works for me soon. ![]()

Pristiq was ok for the first week, but then it really affected my TMD and oddly made me lazy, I was playing video games all day and I don't typically play video games at all. Then it started to make me extremely weak. That mixed with the dizziness ended my run with the oh so expensive Pristiq.

Lexapro was actually horrible for me, didn't help my depression very much at 5mg so they kicked me up to 10mg but at 10mg I had sever GI issues and still had depression.

So the winner is... Viibryd. My pdoc gave me some samples. She thinks it is a better option than Zoloft since fatigue is likely with that one. So we will see how Viibryd goes. Yey 1.5 months of can I get a break!! I'm optimistic and not looking at any side effect lists from here on out... Gotta give this one a fair trial.
