Hey folks,

I've been taking Concerta @ 54mgs for about 4 months now. It's been a fantastic help. However, for the past month or so my left eyelid has been twitching almost non-stop. Also, my small finger has been twitching a lot; but, not as much as my eye. The latest twitch (which started last week) is my nose. Not just one side; my entire nose. I have been having more migraines than usual as well.

I went to my GP and had blood work done. Everything came back normal and she seems to think it could be side effects from the Concerta. I'll be seeing my psychiatrist next month. But, in the meantime; I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I'm no doctor. But, in my experience, if I am going to have side effects from a medication they usually start within days of starting it anew. I've been taking Concerta for months now. So, I have my doubts that I'm suffering from side effects.

Anyhow, it's making me kind of nervous. I know those twitches can be caused by fatigue as well. But, I haven't had a good night's sleep in years. Surely, it wouldn't take that long to manifest?

Cheers,

BW76

Hey Wolf....

Normally you would not start at that high of a dose...so I assume that you have upped it over time? Just making an assumption here. But that is a pretty high dose, I would recommend putting call in to Pdoc and ask him to bring it down a notch or two and see if they go away and discuss your symptons and see if he has any other suggestions. This is all assumptive, but definitely worth call to pdoc to discuss.

Hope this helps a little and that you get to feeling better...

Yes, you're right I started at a lower dose. But, it wasn't really making a difference and it wasn't causing any adverse effects. So, my psych upped me to the 54mg.

I left a message for my psychiatrist and am waiting to hear back. Thanks a bunch for the advice!

Awesome Wolf...

I believe it is also important that you eat a bit with this med...check with your pharmacist...There are lots of dosages, so hopefully you can get it all worked out....
Would love to hear how you're doing if you get the chance..

Thanks Wysteria!

I had a pretty good day. I had a decent night's sleep and did a fair bit of walking outside today. Feeling good. My nose is only intermittently twitching tonight! Haha! Everything else is good. I'm still waiting to hear back from my psychiatrist. I think she may be on vacation.

I have to admit that eating has been an issue. I've never been a fan of eating in the morning. But, I'm slowly getting myself there. My breakfast has always been a good cup of coffee... However, I have cut back on caffeine a lot. My daughter is getting good at making sure I eat something when in the morning as well.
