I've been on Wellbutrin (regular) at 75 mg a day for 10 days now. I just can't stop crying. This is so distressing! Final exams for school are over but I'm having a hard time relaxing still. I just keep crying several times a day. My anxiety levels have gone down a little since finals were over but I still can't relax. Things that don't ordinarily bother me now bother me. I feel like I've drunk a pot of really strong coffee but I've had only two cups today. My nerves feel raw. I feel revved up but not in a good way. Could this be due to the Wellbutrin? Or just plain old anxiety?

Xanax doesn't help with this agitation. If I take Xanax, I just end up sedated and agitated. I know, that's a weird contradiction of states. Wellbutrin isn't helping me this time around like it did several years ago. I think it's also causing the increase in the tinnitus in my left ear. The constant noise in my ear makes me a bit agitated also. Ugh. At least I see my pdoc tomorrow.

Just wanted to vent, I guess.

I love Wellbutrin but it does effect people differently and is not for everyone. It causes increased anxiety for me and why I also take Zoloft too. You need to address this with your doctor. He may up the dosage or try something different.

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble. I haven't taken Wellbutrin except a long time ago. I remember feeling "wired" on it. And since I have anxiety, I didn't take it long.

I'm responding because recently I took some Ritalin and also experienced crying all of a sudden. The timing was too precise to not connect the two. Just an example. My shrink said it may have done something to the central nervous system. I was only taking it to study for an exam so I didn't become too concerned. I would definitely ask your shrink.

I'm supposed to be taking gabapentin, 100 mg per night It slows down my thinking a lot and makes it dangerous for me to drive. I had to stop taking it in order to get through finals week at school. Finals were over last Friday... My meds were changed from Lamictal, Prozac and Seroquel to gabapentin, Wellbutrin and Seroquel only two weeks ago. I had tried Zoloft recently but it turned me into a zombie and disturbed my sleep. Sigh. I'm so sensitive to medications...

Thanks for your support! I'm feeling all over the place tonight. I'm trying to calm down by posting here and by keeping busy with stuff.

I have been taking 150mg of just wellbutrin, not SR or anything. I have always been angry but it seems to make this worse, possibly and recently I seem to ve crying more and more over silly things. Which I already always got paranoid over little silly things.

I feel like I am rambling. Sorry. I have been on it a few months. And it helps a little not great, Zoloft helped me the most but u stopped that for some reasons.
Actually just got over crying a few minutes ago over some silly **** with my boyfriend I took too seriously and the fact that I feel like I am messing things up because of how I am. Now I feel like I am just venting..sorry.. again.

Anyways yeah I think wellbutrin is messing with my emotions, more than they usually are. I plan on seeing what other options there are, this is my 3rd trial. Good luck with whatever you may face.

Sorry to hear...I'd say Wellbutrin isn't working for you at all. Also, Ativan is much more effective than Xanax for agitation, but Xanax is better for anxiety. Best of luck!

You might like Cymbalta, Lexapro, Viibryd or Brintellix, I haven't had any side effects on those ADs, and they're all weight neutral. Also, maybe try Buspar over Neurontin, and Latuda instead of Seroquel!

I ended up going with a different pdoc and therapist. I had been going to the county. They are basically incompetent. I had been deteriorating for months and they didn't respond adequately. I felt like they didn't take my symptoms seriously and try hard enough to help me. They said I could always go to the hospital if things got bad enough. That's fine and dandy but how about keeping me out of the hospital in the first place???

I'm doing quite well on 20mg Prozac, 100 mg Seroquel, 7.5-15 mg Remeron and 1.25 mg Ambien. Looking back on my experience with the county, I now see that they cannot effectively deal with cases where a person is not stable on their meds. All they are good for is refilling your prescriptions. They aren't worth s*** for figuring out a solution for you. They just say "Oh well, she can always go to the hospital." What a cop-out!

Been there! Not at the county, tough. Normal run of the mill pdocs not caring about me after the give me a script.

Hang in there! Glad you are getting better help now.
