Hi-
At the time I was prescribed zoloft four and a half months ago, I had not been diagnosed with OCD.... the zoloft seemed to help with anxiety but the effects seemed to level out and go away around week 8. I upped my dose after a panick attack from 50mg to 100mg. Fastforward to now and I have been diagnosed with contamination OCD (tons of hand washing). Zoloft is not helping with my fear and handwashing. I know zoloft is suppsed to help with anxiety but am reading that Luvox is the best for OCD treatment...thinking about giving it a try....thoughts? side note: I dont want to be on meds for long, I want kids within five years, and hoping that therapy will help. Luvox worth the shot in the short term to help? |

It might be worth a shot; I would research it and find lots of information to bring to the doctor with you and explain why you want to try it.
Best wishes! ![]() ![]() |

If you try it, I hope it works out for you!
I was thinking of using it for depression and anxiety. It's one of the few drugs I haven't tried yet. Sent using Tapatalk

I've tried many SSRIs, and fluoxetine has been the most helpful for me although the difference is still small. Also, augmentation of SSRIs with dopamine antagonists show some efficacy in some people. Treatments for OCD aren't very effective. I'm investigating the use of specific glutamate drugs in mouse models right now. Hopefully we'll develop something more effective. Stupid faulty brain circuitry...
