I am getting tired of taking meds for my depression, some of which are quite heavy duty, and consequently have side effcts that I no longer want to deal with......or maybe it is just my depression making me tired :Meds vs. ECT: I don't know.....

Anyway, I am thinking of asking for ECT and had some questions. I had it many years ago and I really can't remember if it did much good. Actually, the only thing I remember is how much memory I lost Meds vs. ECT Oh well.....

My questions are............

1. Has anyone had luck with ECT and if yes, were you able to get off most of your meds?

2. How much did the ECT affect your memory??

3. Have you had to continue a schedule of maintenance ECT to keep the desired effect?

4. If yes, has the memory loss increased over time or stayed about the same?

Thank you so much for any feedback you can give me...
